HIstory

Towne & Forrester (formerly known as Finca Project) has been working in Aguabuena, Costa Rica since 2005. Our mission is to value our environment by engaging with small-scale farms, conservation alternatives, and creative learning. Towne & Forrester is dedicated to environmental and forest conservation through contributing resources for projects defined by local leaders such as diversifying farms, protecting ancestral knowledge, or empowering cooperatives.

Considering Ecuador’s extreme biodiversity, T&F expanded to Ecuador in 2011 to widen our impact with a special interest in the Amazonian and Andean Regions.

Our project developers work with communities to design environmental management plans that generate marketable ecosystem services. Our current areas of focus are agricultural cooperative development, indigenous biodiversity conservation, and eco-tourism development.
